R.D. Wingfield's Jack Frost returns Starring Warren Brown
‘First Frost’ reveals the early life and investigations of Jack Frost one of television’s most enduring and beloved police detectives. RD Wingfield published ‘A Frost at Christmas’ in 1984, creating the police legend, William Edward ‘Jack’ Frost. Beginning in 1992, television adaptations of his novels, and further stories based on the characters have been transmitted in the UK and later globally to huge success. The series was broadcast under the umbrella title ‘A Touch of Frost’. To date, there have been thirty-eight stories broadcast (forty-two episodes, if counted individually).
In 2011 James Henry, with the support of the Wingfield estate, published ‘First Frost’ a much praised novel that began to tell the story of Frost's early police and private life. This book has now been adapted by Matthew Thomas (The Last Detective, New Tricks, Marcella) into an exciting three part series prequel in which Jack Frost will be played by Warren Brown.
Currently in active development, an announcement about our plans for 'First Frost' will be posted shortly.
